Funny story: my real birthday is very close to the MC birthday. My first year in the MC, everyone was wishing me Happy Birthday and
I was very confused how everyone knew it was my birthday. So I was like, “Uh…thank you?” When I walked by the XO and he told me “Happy Birthday!” I finally asked someone what was up. They explained after they stopped laughing. I was mocked about that for months, ha!
(Not that I didn’t know the Marine Corps birthday was the 10th, I just didn’t know we walked around wishing everyone Happy Birthday. In my defense, it was my first unit and I was just a few weeks out of school…)
