I may be chasing a chimera here, but if it existed, I’d be interested in a cold-hardy July-harvested nect.
As far as I’ve found, the hardy varieties ripen in August and the July-ripe ones aren’t so hardy

Try Harko
Sounds just like what I have in mind
Did you find one for sale? On what rootstock?
Bay Laurel has it and maybe some others.
Thanks
I think Independence ripens around the time Harko does. Montana Fruit Tree Company claims it is also hardy. Independence Nectarine — Montana Fruit Tree Company Quite a few people on here have complimented its flavor. Bay Laurel has it also.
hmm - I see that Bay Laurel has Independence on Citation, but Harko only on Lovell
I also see where I got the idea that Mericrest ripens in July
They also list Red Gold, which I grow. It’s extremely prolific and is
really the only one you’ll ever need… You’ll have far many more nects than you could ever eat. But IMHO $50 is a ridiculous price to pay for any nectarine.
In my case, Red Gold isn’t hardy enough for the winters here
Bay Laurel indicates that it ripens with Redhaven, which isn’t early. Does it ripen early relative to Redhaven at your location?
I don’t grow either one.
I thought you were planning to plant one this spring?
I am, but I still don’t grow it yet.
