Help i.d. thus problem please

I have a couple of apples that have developed issues.

One problem is the MACOUN APPLE. It set ALOT of blooms but none took.
Beloww see the photos of the clusters and the curled leaves. The trunk of the tree shiws some issues and they are on the NORTH side if the trunk.

But another tree, the HONEYCRISP, is showing similar curled leaves but with a perfectly clean trunk.

Any ideas???

not sure if you have borers in your locale, but here in vegas, the symptoms are exactly that.
