Snowing heavily and already 2”+ on the ground.

in the 20’s now with single digits at night. have a shot at 50 towards the weekend with rain.
Just had a low around 24F this morning, weeks after having 70F+ degree days. I hope this is the last time this spring that I’ll need to protect new growth from the cold.
Crazy winds again. Gusting near 40 at times. Upper 60Fs today//back to the 50Fs to finish week but sunshine and less wind.
finally 50 tom. and through the weekend. supposed to rain after tom. though but it will help melt whats left.
was supposed to be 34F tonight, o no longer believe the 10 day.
looking ahead next week might get a cold night or two but it is unlikely to even frost again i think. those night we might get a light frost. i would bet money on it and i don’t got a lot a money.
I’m thinking we are done freezing and might get one or two light frost this month yet. but the nights will end up in the 50s by the end of month. the lilacs are starting to bloom, etc
the 10 day has predicted multiple freeze and frost nights that end up being 40-45F instead, over the past month.
edit; i also don’t believe it’ll rain much if at all. that’s been wrong more often than not too and we are in drought already, this early.
The island is fairly normal, as normal as can be I s’pose. Two days around 15 - 18 c, which my apple trees found pleasing, and so have started to bud out. A couple weeks ago there were some freezing temperatures which has made my poor little peach upset. Still not warm enough at night to put out my tomato starts (which I have 13 of, and only three whiskey barrel planters, oops…)
My family on the prairies are also talking about how bad the spring weather has been. Mom has lost two calves to random cold snaps. Then thawing immediately after. It’s not looking good. I doubt it’ll bother the Haskaps, however. Indestructible and taller than me, now.
Going to be a hot and intense summer, I think.
Frost this morning. Nothing unusual about the frost date, but it will be in the low 90s next week. March was 6 degrees above normal in NC and the Tulip poplars are blooming two weeks early.
Drought and crazy temp swings continue.
23° this morning. That may be it for the hard freezes. Still another 5 weeks for threats of 28-32°.
Temp on Tuesday said 28, but I saw no sign of frost. Up to 70 on Weds.
We got down to 42 this morning, and 46 tomorrow it looks like. I think this will be the big planting weekend for most people in our area based on forecast and frost dates.
I’m planting my artichokes in the ground today. They are root bound in their gallon pots. They’ve had lots of cold so maybe they’ll bloom this summer.
Lots of 50Fs to 80F by Monday. Rain chances almost every day. The rain last night was super dirty. Must have had dust from somewhere mixed in.
Could we be done with frost for the year?? It would be early but not impossible…
That’s my feeling too.
Super nice spring weather for now, though we could definitely use more rain. Still a couple nights below freezing in the forecast but none of my stuff has broken dormancy yet. We rarely get freezing temps after April.
70’s -80’s. The switch has been flipped! Gardening this weekend.
Gorgeous day around 55F/sunny and light winds. Perfect outside working day. Extended looks very active across US. Lots of storm chances. Big time warmup. Should feel like summer Sunday-next week. I saw the first tree in town with green leaves==everything should start popping next week.
Rain on the way. It has been in the 80’s.
Abnormally dry spring here and don’t see rain for another week plus. I’m not used to water so much in April.
We had t storms all night. Should be in the 70Fs to 80F until next weekend. This week will be a taste of June. Dewpoint crept into the 50Fs this morning. Very moist airmass in place.
Dry with very above average temps dominating. The Yadkin River gage at Elkin will likely see a new record average low flow for the month of April. This gage has been in recording data since 1964.
