upper 60’s and lows in the lower 40’s finally. a few more weeks and the leaves will start to change. my time of year.
Mid 80s for a high and humid. Leaves are changing and dropping here, not because of the season though. Severe drought is the cause

Crazy hot and humid here. Dewpoint around 70F. At least some clouds rolled in this afternoon. I’m not ready for winter but i’m done with summer. Alaska has been very cold so sooner or later that air needs to move this way.]
GFS keeps trying to bring a tropical storm up into the Los Angeles area late weekend/early next week. Something to watch.

I don’t think that storm hits LA. If anything it probably heads out west to the Pacific, but it’s been pretty unpredictable this year in general.
Leaves changing also
18z keeps it offshore and it dies just north of LA. Maybe it’s a precursor of what el nino is going to bring this winter.
Dew point hit 74F here today. Like mid-July readings again. Tok, AK had a high temp of 44F this afternoon. Might not want it that cold but i’d take a week or a month or 3 months of 50Fs and 60Fs. Local panfishing has been insanely good. I know a guy who caught a 10 1/4” sunfish. Lots of jumbos.

We had a 75F dewpoint yesterday again, but heavy rain overnight has dropped it back into the low 60Fs. Almost an inch fell. Lots of lightning.

Basically normal summer weather intermixed with random high dew point stuff, random sporadic light rain, and overcast. In general though we haven’t seen “normal” humidity for a while but it hasn’t been Florida level or anything.
97 degrees at the house today. 100 downtown Elkin NC according to the car thermometer.
Soybeans turning yellow, silage corn getting chopped, acorns dropping…all 1-3 weeks early. Lawns dormant in September, I havent mowed for weeks. 90 degrees in central MN tomorrow.
I figured you were much higher in elevation. This area is all about 650 feet. I figure if you want to escape summer’s heat you need to be about 7000 or 8000ft.
Rain and super humid.

the orchard i planted up the hill sits at 500ish ft and is a half growing zone warmer than here but because the hill its on is exposed to the n.w winds it suffers more winter injury all though my siberian peach has held on for 2 years up there with just minor injury. hopefully as it gets further from the ground it will do better..

some heavy showers , off and on today. clearing and low 60’s with a cold front coming through tom. wind will dry things up.
This summer seems like it’ll never end. Dewpoint was 75F overnite. Pushing 90F again today. Storms stayed south. Only good? thing is it gets darker earlier.
