I looked up if figs require chill hours. Internet said some require 100 chill hours. I am thinking of growing the figs outside during summer and inside during winter. The fig on got is called Galicia Negra Fig if that makes a difference.

They don’t need chilling but some cold can help them drop the old leaves and accelerate coming out of dormancy.
Indoors in winter you’ll need strong lights if you want good fruit. Also I’d recommend once a month spray with horticultural oil to control spider mites and fig bud mites.
