How to Propagate Adara AKA Puente from cuttings

I have a branch of last year’s wood growing from an Adara/Puente interstem on one of my trees. It’s dormant now, and I’d like to propagate some new rootstock from it. Does anyone have experience with this?

My thought was to cut it off the tree now, cut it into about 10” sections, then put them in the fridge until the time when the tree outside is leafing out. Then put the cuttings in rooting medium outside in the shade, with rooting hormone on the bottom and parafilm on the above-soil portion.

Any recommendations?
