How to tell if T Bud took?

I am new to budding but have grafted for some years. I tried t budding on about 10 rootstock that were left over from spring grafting. I would like to know how to tell if the bud took without waiting till spring.

On my T buds using current season scion wood it’s pretty easy to tell two weeks after budding. You tell by looking at the inserted bud. If color is bright and similar to the scion wood then it took. If brown, black, or shriveled looking it didn’t take.

Here is a chip bud placed maybe a month ago… You can see that the rubber bands already broke (UV kills them) …everything is still green under the parafilm…good sign…
