I didn't even know

I was looking through my potted fig trees and felt something bump against my knee as I was leaning over a row of potted trees and low and behold it was a Fuyu persimmon. I didn’t even know it had fruited this year but there it was on the lowest branch on the tree.

How I missed it earlier this year is beyond me.

fumi once, shame on me
fuyu twice, shame on you

kidding aside, would be happy to have our fuyus fruits attain even just 50% the size of what you’re holding.
this dry, sunny desert is just no bueno.
here’s our fuyu with sunburnt foliage and a few little squashes

That’s so sad, I’m sorry jujubemulberry :frowning2:

it does look sad, but actually still have high hopes for it, considering that it fruited despite the torture it endured, and is now pushing new and undamaged growth under part shade. Seriously considering growing it under wire mesh to prevent sunburn.

Do any of your mulberries or jujubes get sunburned too?

mulbs and jujus do get some burnt tips by the end of summer, but nothing like the 'simmons, and it could just be due to natural wear and tear.
jujus keep their foliage presentable the longest-- up to october or november. Apples and mulbs also hold their own somewhat. Nectarines and peaches look worn out and sun-bleached by july or august, while the simmons and avocados leaves start to snap, crackle and pop as early as june…
