I may not be grafting a damn thing

Sorry if I was the source of your small caliper…but, I did one smaller than the stem of a q-tip as a saddle graft…and the little guy has reddish leaves half an inch long in just 2 weeks!

It was not you  I grafted those fine :+1: It was a last minute very nice surprise that was a bit smaller and the rootstock was causing the problem more than the scion :relaxed:

Have lost count I think, but over 100 grafts I think counting the pear tree and the Frankentrees.
But I still have about two dozen rootstocks, and some of them I may just plant and carry over, as I’m about to run out of scionwood (except for Wolf River and Arkansas Black, I don’t need 5 or 10 each of those).

Even with all the generous swaps and about 10 I bought, seems like the ‘scion monster’ has ate my wood! (But I guess it’s on top of the sticks in black nursery pots out back!)

Anyhow, hang in there, the utility knife works fine…used the same blade for my 100+ grafts.

I think I got decent cambium contact despite some imperfect cuts. If only a couple of each take, it should be sufficient to rework the tree.
