Added two new muscadines to this area. The Southern Home in the back will be going into its third leaf in 2018. This has been an aggressive growing vine and it has completely covered the 20ā wire. Hoping for a big crop next year.
Second crop on the Southern Home. Looks like they will have adequate time to ripen. I need to check and make sure the residue is from previous spraying of surround.
Thanks. Iām not sure if the trellis will hold the weight of a big crop but it was simple to make from t-post and heavy wire. I might have to add a couple more post.
Usually Iām spraying with a mixture of surround/neem on my other fruit at the time the JB arrive. When I see JB activity I give them a spraying with it. Seems to work really well. The neem/water spray appears to also be effective against the JB.
Thanks for your response. I plan to use Surround next year and may mix neem with it as well. Japanese beetles are a big problem for me. Iām also considering adding Black Beauty due to your reviews. I may wait a little to see how the varieties I have planted now perform.
Oh, by the way, I have successful grafts of your Orient and Ayers pears growing now. I really appreciate you providing the scions!
