I found this really delicious sweet grape in a abandoned lot. Some of the vines on the ground had roots. I pulled some up an put them in pots and sealed the top cut end with wood glue. Will they survive this late in the season August 1st zone 6b WV?

Nice sleuthing! I’ve no idea about your environment though.

Move them into your garage before they freeze outside. Whether they grow now or don’t those should make it thru winter in your area with some protection.

If they dont… get u some cuttings this fall and stick them in pots and put them in a cool room or shed. I rooted several varieties this way. You can also trade/sell cuttings to others. Or u can do fig pops. Root fairly easily about the same as figs.

Thank you both for the advice
Do you all think they will be ok even though they weren’t dormant?

Theyre tough as nails. Id pot them up and winter them somewhere like a garage or basement if youre worried about it. Id give them some dappled light while they push, though they’d probably be fine regardless
