Is this Allegheny or Overleese?

I sent my family two little pawpaw trees in 2016 and my mother has taken good care of them. One of them has fruit for the first time this year (22 fruit! maybe she should have done some thinning).

But she removed the tags before she planted, and we don’t know which is Allegheny and which is Overleese. This photo is the bigger tree with the fruit, maybe you can zoom in and see the fruit. Can you identify it? The other tree is smaller with no fruit, but it has big leaves.

When should we start checking if the fruit is ripe (this is in Michigan)
