Hi,
I have a couple of apple tree with some spots. They occur on about 5ish% of the leaves and arrived a few weeks ago. A few leaves are also curling in an odd manner. If it is, should I treat it or leave it?
Thanks,
Andrew

Yes it is.
Probably, but a minor case of it.
Great, thank you all. I’ll see what happens. Would you spray next year or see if it gets worse? Id rather not spray if I don’t have to.
What kind of apples? Maybe they are known magnets, or more resistant.
I have a spitzenberg and a calville, so I think they’re susceptible. They are only 3 years old, so not yet bearing, if that matters for my treatment regiment.
I don’t have any experience with those two apples although they are listed as susceptible on some sites. I suppose your treatment approach might depend on how much pressure they get from rust. I saw some sites list spitzenburg as resistant. I would wait and see what happens (it looks minor enough at this point that it won’t cause much harm), but then I’m lazy and don’t like to spray It’s the wrong time to treat currently.
