Is this fireblight on my pear tree?

Hi! As I was admiring :joy: my Shinseiki tree, I noticed some black spots on the branches. Is this fireblight? I don’t recall leaves falling off or branches dying last summer/fall so I am quite surprised to see this. Could it be winter dieback?

If you know what it is and know what to do, please help me!

I’m not seeing fireblight, but I may be missing something. I would keep an eye on it, and when in doubt, prune it out.

I can’t tell for sure, but is the bark sunken a little as well as discolored? If so, I’d definitely get rid of it.

It might be winter die back. Prune off 6" below the dead looking portion.
