BH’s Sherwoods are not typical.

Here’s what I posted a year ago. Sherwood on top. Is this typical?

Beautiful! You did an excellent job training it… I’ve read it tends to grow more upright, and that’s definitely how mine likes to grow. It’s been a constant fight to form a nice wide form like you have.

The one on top is typical Sherwood.

That’s what mine normally look like. I’d guess that’s Honey Jar in the middle, but what’s at the bottom? I have Shanxi Li and Chico that have more of a round appearance, but I know there are others…

Same tree. But last summer was our typical dry Dallas weather. This year we had 2-4 inches of rain in last week, exact number varies a lot, there were lots of local showers

How good is Sherwood compare to others jujubes?

Very good, one of the best, sometimes I think it’s the best. But it’s slow to bear, and not very productive.

I wouldn’t worry about GA 866 to much; it’s sweet, and my last batch tasted good, but I think there are many tastier varieties

that’s a beautiful tree @castanea . Juju trees are quite attractive in general, but sherwood and contorted are two i find most ornamental.

same here, it just depends on my mood, i guess.
incidentally, have you tried cracking sherwood pits for seed? Our sherwood pits are all empty have given up trying! Fruits i bought from Mr Meyer several years ago were seedless too

I’ll try tomorrow

It’s a matter of personal taste. Sherwood is definitely one of the better ones though.
