Ken Burn’s Country Music on PBS (Hortilogical question)

Hello,
I am currently watching the Ken Burn’s Country Music on PBS. I am two shows in and it is interesting.

So, the horticultural thing they touch on was that A.P. Carter was selling fruit trees door to door in Southwest Virginia.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if any of these trees remained?

That’s another great series by KB, and I love your questions. I’ll bet that there are trees he sold still growing there, but who would know?

I watched that series. Really interesting. A traveling tree salesman had to be a tough business, Like most of those people in Poor Valley (and the South in general) had to be tough.

I think I remember reading the founder of Stark Bros. also started out as a traveling tree salesman.
