Last plum tree finally arrived. Now another loser nursery review!

I ordered a Dinosaur Egg pluot December 18 from NN Plant in CA. I got many emails from them all along saying they wanted to put off the shipment for this or that reason. Finally I answered their Feb email by saying ship it whenever you can as long as I get a dormant tree. No leaves or pushing buds. I didnt here back and didnt here anything again ever so I had to contact them when I still hadnt gotten my tree by early April.
Answer back was they were having an inventory problem… So right away im thinking yup they forgot about me and now they dont have any more.
A week later I get a shipment notice from UPS and this is what I got.

According to the picture and the text in the ad this is supposed to be a 5 gallon plum tree. The small amount of roots look to me to have been removed from a 1 gallon pot or bag. I included a 5 gallon bucket in the pic for reference, you can see the dirt ball is way smaller.
They do disclose that they will shorten the tree to fit a 4’ box but this tree is practically just a whip. Nothing like the very well branched tree in the ad.
It looks to me like they have sent me what would normally be transplanted into a larger (5 gallon) pot and then grown a year to sell. Typical shister nursery tactics.
Also there is no name tag for variety or rootstock on this tree??? Could be anything.
Looks like NN Plant gets the big thumbs down!

@jcf
Here is an aerial photo of their “nursery”.
They specialize in house plants.
In my opinion, ordering fruit trees (or perhaps anything) from them is a pilot error.

I literally just pulled up the place on Google maps as well. You beat me to it. They have terrible reviews on Google. It’s a residential neighborhood.

What’s with nurseries this week only shipping 1 gallon plants when we were promised bigger :face_with_spiral_eyes::rage:

Just had the same issues with toptropicals.com

Ah geez. So if we get our licenses; folk are going to google up our operation? Man that will trigger my OCD wife to groom each leaf that falls on our property…lol

@Richard, are they line-drying bedsheets on those racks?! :joy:
