It’s too early to know which of the 150 grafts of 20 or so varieties Limbertwig will take off into whips ready for field plantings next fall/spring. My goal, should I live to another grafting season, is to collect as many as possible to graft and pass along for the younger farmers and gardeners.
However, I am on the hunt here in western NC to gift to a state nursery or college in order to keep the lines alive. Have contacted the Fletcher Research Station, maybe reach out to some heritage gardens to donate. Hopefully, my grafting skills will “take.”
Also on the hunt for a sale’s venue as these will be in 2 gallon fiber pots & not shippable. Thinking of the Asheville farmers market, one of several state supported venues up our way. They have special plant weekends geared for nursery stock and herbs and so forth.

My girlfriend used to giggle and call me Limbertwig, now she just mumbles Scionwood.
