Many times we see scams that try to sell orchardists magic formulas advertised to boost the growth of your trees. " Live Microorganisms Inside To BOOST YOUR PLANTS, TREES" - currently the latest is called Lixiviado Vitamins. Now ive grown trees a long time and never ran onto the scam or missed oppurtunity before. You be the judge but i did not and will not buy this product unless their is some compelling new evidence i should do so. Anytime i see a product like this i bring it to the groups attention to discuss it. If i remember correctly those are puerto rico phone prefixes i memorized from my remote computer support job. This is a photo from ebay
Agriculture is a serious business, with billions/trillions of dollars in research. Anything needed can be found in commercial ag products. This product reminds me of “Superthrive”. A cute product but unnecessary and generally ineffective compared to real ag supplies. Fertilizers really need to be used in coordination with soil tests to meet a certain deficit or goal, not just randomly applied. I don’t see any measurable amount of any micro or macro nutrients on the product label so what is actually being accomplished?
I agree it’s not proven. The Japanese offer a product too said to help growth and rooting, germinating etc. I do know hormones from natural products do work. I can’t say that for vitamins? i never saw any research. So many hormones out there I’m experimenting this year with gibberllic acid. It’s used for all kinds of reasons on all kinds of plants. I’m going to use it on grapes and tomato plants. It increases the size of grapes. Those long grapes, have you seen them? Gibberlic acid does that to some grapes. It usually just makes them bigger, but some new cultivars get long instead. It makes tomato flowers set and hold fruit. Often it is too cold or too warm for tomatoes to set properly. At least many heirlooms. It’s a way to increase production on poor setting tomatoes.
Gibberellic acid is a naturally occurring plant hormone. Found in plants.
