Lonely plants

I planted 2 Cornus Mas 5 or 6 years ago. The second plant die, and 2 subsequent replacements died. I also completely failed at all of my grafting attempts last year. With no attempts to graft this year the poor tree is going to remain lonely for some time more.

Anyone else have lonely plants?

I make it a point,never to loan plants.Now,some are given away,especially if there are too many of one variety.
