Long keeper apples

Interesting how zones work for low and high temps. Mike, you have lower temps than me 6b but sounds like the highs are similar. I didnt think Ohio got that hot.

It can get that hot and also very humid in the summer, usually July and or August. It is a strange area to get plants and trees for. I have to be careful as to what lows they can withstand because of the very cold temps.
With apples I want to have one I can get some later ripening ones where I can store them.
Arkansas Black was one that kept a long time in my cold area of my basement. It ripened fully being stored there for about a month. I picked them in early to mid November. Depending on the weather- if we were getting freezing temps or snow. Only thing I did not care for much was the greasy coating it got on the skin. Just a small little complaint. It just ripened at the latest part of the year I could actually grow an apple.
