Looking around the garden

I need the garden to distract me from all the darn doctors I have seen and keep seeing. Adding a new one now and then. Ear nose and throat specialist today. I needed to look and distract my self in the garden.

I put in some thornless black raspberries. Rather late fruiting for blacks yet cool fills another niche.

Extends the black raspberry season

Potato row. I only grow purples right now. A lot of foliage this year, hope something went to the roots?! I’ll find out this fall. I grow them mostly 20 gallon grow bags.

My Rovada red currant cordon

I have two Ravoda plants planted next to each other. Now looks like a giant bush

I’ll post a few more tomorrow. My rather small Papone rimada has breba and baby main crop. Figs are getting there!

Last week I harvested garlic. I picked about twelve of each hard and soft neck for seed. Those are not shown. Also ten were given away. And five others are on my kitchen for use. These here will be given away for the most part. I’ll be growling less next year. I need to redo beds and some are under construction. Hardnecks in top box, softs with foliage to braid

Bub, unless you are deathly ill, doctors like to run up bills and experiment on you. As far as the garden…beautiful work!

I had a swelling in my neck. I went to an Asian naturopathy doctor to give him a try. The American doctor wanted to operate. The Asian doctor told me to survey how much I was cooking with Teflon. I went home and checked it out. I ate rice all the time that was cooked in a Zojirushi rice cooker with a Teflon / non-stick pot. I baked all my own bread, which I thought was healthier, in a Teflon pot in the bread machine. I cooked with Teflon frying pans, baked on Teflon cookie sheets, etc. and etc. He told me to get off the Teflon and see if I improved.

Magically after many months the swelling in my neck went down and a couple years later is pretty normal now. I still use a rice cooker, but it has a stainless steel pot. It is not as good as the Zojirushi teflon rice cooker, but my health can’t afford it. Teflon / non-stick may not bother you at all, but that is what happened to me.

I used to get heartburn all the time. I thought I’d try another salt in my cooking to see if that helped. I was using canning salt as a seasoning as I thought it was the purest. I switched over to European sea salt. My heartburn issues decreased maybe 95%. I also got off of the commercial pasta sauces from the supermarket and make my own pasta sauce with USA tomatoes. I had heard a lot of the pasta sauce in the USA uses Chinese tomato paste. I would have issues after eating the commercial pasta sauces in the USA. No idea what it was, but it was something in the bottle.

My wife and I are kinda insiders (both of us worked in hospitals. I’m a Med Tech the wife an RN) as far as medical stuff. Like we research our doctors, talk to former patients, ask their peers (we are friends with many doctors) I can’t tolerate incompetence so I’m picky on who I see. I have left hospitals AMA (Against medical advice) more than once. I just cant tolerant incompetence so went home, recovered from surgery with my wife and help from my Physical therapy friends. The hospital would have killed me, if I stayed any longer.. Assholes!

I’m a firm believer in medicine, not doctors or people but the science of medicine is excellent. Finding true healers is rather difficult. It took me yeas to find all the doctors I needed as so many should not be doctors. I got to the point I could not walk fifty feet. The back pain was unbearable.

Thats all fixed now, learning to walk again as my muscles are so weak. Years of not walking destroyed my muscles. Starting to get bigger especially the ham string and calf muscles. It’s taking a bit, but I go walk a little farther each day. Up to about a half mile now and no pain!

Thanks! It’s a good year hot and dry. Everything is very sweet this year. Boyson berries were amazing. Really sweet, well for this berry, which has a strong acid kick. But that flavor is unbeatable.

Put everything on dedicated carts and you can shuffle easy. But it cost $$ for carts and you need space. Straight buckets work best for dedicated carts. You can fit more on them. I saw a fig grower with such a set up. Would be a breeze to shuffle that way. Only drawback is more root pruning in small containers.

most of my figs need up potting. I just got off lifting restrictions although I’m a little spooked to lift much. A fig grower a few blocks away has two fig trees each in 200 gallon bags on a pallet he lifts with high low into garage. The trees are amazing looking. I only move the 30 gallon plus grow bags ten feet into the garage using a good strong dolly.

Back to medical you have to go with what works for you. Z6 sounds like you have. If I didn’t know hundreds of medical people I’m not sure I would survive a hospital stay. Avoid at all costs although sometimes you have to go.

When fixing my back they started with a MRI of my back and neck. That happened to show a nodule in my thyroid which led to discovering my thyroid was not producing hormones. Now two months of synthetic hormone, I feel so m h better more alert, sleeping well, not gaining but losing weight now! My fingernails are much harder now. I had no idea how bad I was till it was fixed. I’m loving all this energy. What’s awesome too I can increase or decrease dosage if needed. Chemicals can be life saving. Oh the nodule is benign so leave it alone. I had it biopsied. Not the cause of hormone loss. My body is attacking and killing the hormone producing cells in the thyroid. Aka Hoshimoto’s disease. I also recently developed eczema. Both autoimmune diseases.

99 million people developed autoimmune disease mostly endocarditis from the COVID vaccine. looks like it’s 99 million and one. The only cause of this that makes sense to me.

This purple raspberry really gets tall. Over seven feet tall. This is primocane fruiting so fruit will be forming up there!

The fruit looks fuzzy, really shows when fully purple.
