Looking for America grapevine

Does anyone here know where I can score a couple plants of the grape varietal named “America”, Vitis lincecumii x V. rupestris? Double A and Edible Plants are the only sources I know of and neither has had it on offer.

If you are willing to root cuttings, you can get them from Bunchgrapes.com.

Thanks. I have never tried rooting cuttings. I’m willing to give it a go to get this grape.

Unfortunately they are sold out of America grape cuttings, I wrote and asked. Shortly thereafter they closed online sales for the season.

You’ll have to wait until it’s back in stock, but member @Blake carries “America” (and several other Munson hybrids):

I’d imagine the Munson cultivars vary quite a bit in terms of ease of rooting, as they’re an interspecies salmagundi. Have no clue about “America,” but I tried—and failed—with “Salamander” this spring. :slightly_frowning_face: Likely my method—but I try to make myself feel better by telling myself that it’s probably just hard to root! If I can get more wood next season, I will probably graft to a rootstock like “Champanel” so I can root at leisure later on.

Thanks very much, Jeremiah. I put myself on their wait list.
