Medieval fruits video...anyone ever eat a Medlar?

English is not my native language, and I only learned the term few years ago right here on this forum.

Besides, many old, traditional pear varieties are also consumed bletted (at least where I am from).

I decided not to grow medlar after reading scotts review of them.

Rust wipes out all serviceberry here and fire blight has ended about a dozen apple and pear trees.

I dont need anything else that is going to be badly affected by those two.

I will have dehydrated figs and persimmons thru December and January… and longer.

I am planting a mulberry where my medlar was.

They say they get brown rot also. I had 3 trees of them. Grafted over one of them this year after issues on the fruit last year. I’ll probably keep one just for the novelty.
