@MarpleFarrs wow! those are nice. i found a bunch of small black morels and they just taste better than the yellows. blacks taste more steak like to me. ive never found black morels as dark as yours though. they look a lot like the black morels in greece that I’ve seen. there are a couple greeks who post their finds on facebook and yours look similar. i wonder if the black morels slightly differ from east to west coast.
regardless, awesome find! i just ate fried morels and now im stuffed. what a good day.

Cant say I’ve ever tried the yellow ones. The ones I found were burn morels. I’ve found some that associate with black cottonwood trees around here but never in the same quantity as the burn morels. The ones in that top bowl look like monsters!
