Mock Strawberry, Potentilla Indica. Menace or not so bad

Who am I kidding its a menace. Indian Strawberry from south Asia has disapointed every child at least once a summer for as long as I can remember.

But last year I discovered something interesting. If you add sugar and citric acid, they actually make a nice juice. Throw a few in to rest in the sugar before your next batch of lemonade this memorial day weekend.

They keep trying to take over my rhubarb patch. I need to replace them with real strawberries.

Truest statement ever

Sigh… This is a mock strawberry, isn’t it?

I was supposed to receive a Japanese balloon berry…

I have never seen this plant before and never tasted it. But it tastes disappointingly bad, correct?

Worth keeping for juices/jams/pies or should I plan to replace it with something else?

With sugar and citric acid they resulting juice tastes supprisling good. But if you have a choice dont let it spread.

Thanks. I tried one, it was just like eating crispy water! Not too bad actually.
