Mulberry that isn't fruiting

There’s a large mulberry tree on my lot that came with the house. My guess is that it was planted by a bird. Even though the tree is about 2 stories tall, it isn’t producing any fruit (hasn’t done so for at least 3 years since we’ve owned the house). Other mulberry trees on the block and in the neighborhood produce plenty of fruit. Is there anything I can do about this? Is there a way to determine the tree gender? I don’t see anything on the branches besides leaves (i.e. I don’t see any catkins at all). I’m considering taking it out if it can’t produce fruit, and replacing it with something that does produce.
