My mums are telling me that Fall season has arrived and the Honey Jar Jujube agreed also

My Envy crossed apple tasted better and crunchy more than the Envy store bought apple. Lol

Do those mums come back every year? Look nice. Your house is beautiful.

Yes, they are cold hardy perennial mums at Home Depot. This is theirs third season in ground. I usually left the bush dried up in the winter and that will protect the base from the cold wind. In the Spring I then cut it down to the new green leaves at the base.

They’re beautiful! I’ve heard that if you cut them down to 4 inches around the 4th of July it will keep them from splitting, but do your own research because I’ve never tried it and I’m not sure if I got all the details right!

I cut mums down before July to help them stay bushy and sturdy. Otherwise, they grow too tall and become lanky, floppy. I’ve done that every year.

Good to know! I’ve never been successful overwintering mums so I’ve never tried it but I have friends who do. I suppose it might depend on your zone when the best time to cut them back is too. I’m not sure how that works and like I said, I’m not sure if I remembered the details of what my friends have told me correctly!

It also depends on the type of mum, zome will handle a cold winter, some will not.
