My root stock is looking peachy to me

I planted this bare root Rubrum plum tree two years ago. Being a plum I have been watching for sprouts popping up but none have emerged. About a week ago a side branch started growing out from the root stock above the soil level. This branch sure looks like a peach to me. Any thoughts as to what it is? Peach/nectarine, or almond. Pretty sure it is not plum or at least any that I have seen before. Two years into growing plums and I have a lot to learn.

Maybe a Lovell peach rootstock.
