This is not my photo but was taken very nearby. You might be riding your bike or 4 wheeler etc. over this stick in the road like the hundreds of others thinking over what dinner might be tonight. These guys are protected here. Please don’t get bit by a timber rattler. The hospital is to far away in any direction. In the woods they are invisible and numerous in nearby areas. Generally there are hundreds in an area and a short distance away like where I am king snakes and bull snakes will not tolerate their presence. This one is in a wildlife area right where he should be. The area where he is becomes all wilderness , river, marshes, quicksand, thick impenetrable forests. Carry on rattler everyone needs a place to call home.

There is a bunch of Virginia Creeper in that top pic… and 1 Ginseng plant. Can you find the ginseng ?

Morels can sure blend in too.

Yes.. that is it. A decent 3 prong ginseng plant.

It stands out like a sore thumb to the experienced eye.

I know an area that has probably an acre of mature ginseng not too far from me. I knew of it for 40+ years, but it is in Pa game lands and illegal to harvest. Lot of Money there.
