New grower in MD

Hi All,
New member here. I’m in zone 7A in Baltimore County, MD. I’ve had a couple peaches and a couple pears in the ground for a few years but i’m lazy and hate spraying so out the peach trees went. This will be my first season growing the following:

So Jujube
Beauty Honeyberry
Beast Honeyberry
Keiko Honeyberry
Maxie Honeyberry
Sweet Scarlet Goumi
Viking Aronia
Gerardi Mulberry

It will be year 2 for the following:
Elderberry
Black Huckleberry ( Gaylussacia baccata)

I have a Hosui pear that has been in the ground for 3 years but working on getting it a pollination partner.

I’ve been lurking the forum for a couple months now and reading all of your contributions was very helpful in getting me started this Spring.

My lot is east facing 2/3rd acre in a river valley and mostly shaded by a Black Walnut grove in the backyard. So i’m working with about 1/4 acre out front, and out of the walnut’s reach, that gets 7 hours of sun

Look forward to reading and commenting more.

Oh yeah this whole design i’ve put in this spring is geared toward laziness. I’m pretty tolerant of astringent and sour flavors so this opens up the possibilities.

I’m adding several black currants this weekend.

In the future i’d like to try muscadine and keiffer pear.

I have the same approach with flower garden. Low maintenance perennials and native pollinator plants. Stachys hummelo, salvia, coreopsis, shurbby st johns wort, coneflower, woods aster do the heavy lifting.
