I’m envious of your southerly okra growing conditions. Despite record heat, my okra in NH never really got off the ground. To be fair, a persistent groundhog certainly didn’t help matters…
I’ve begun to think that in addition to heat, okra does best in the stronger sunlight found south of here.
@tonyOmahaz5 if you have a dehydrator, they dry well when sliced. 5lbs fresh fits in a quart freezer bag when dried, ready to go for winter soups and stews.
I planted okra in August in NE Kansas (yeah, yeah, it would have been better sooner, but that’s when I got around to it), and just this week started harvesting it… Better late than never, and with continued high temps, it should be worth it. Likewise with zucchini–just harvested the first five beauties, and more coming on.
