Old seeds. Stored in fridge and sometimes in the freezer. Bought in 2008 / 2009. Broccoli, radish and a seed mix with alfalfa, clover and some others. All work good in 2025. Seeds are amazing things!
im trying to sprout 3 bags of old navy beans i found behind stuff in the cabinet. probably give them to the chics. that’s amazing they grew being that old. friend of mine found a old film canister from back in the early 90’s full of pot seeds. i think out of 18 only 2 didnt grow.
I once over seeded tomato starts because the seeds were 1 decade old. Waaay too many sprouted in each pot!
I store the in fridge: copied from the seed saver thread:
I use square plastic peanut “jars” with the 4" lids to hold the seed packets or diy envelopes. I make the paper envelopes from thin paper and very small because paper ends up taking more room than the seeds!
I store them in the fridge shelf where the butter normally goes (upper shelf). I leave the lid on loosely so the jars don’t retain moisture that can condense when the cold jar is opened in the kitchen.
I have 2 jars and labeled so i know which one to ope.
