Pawpaws in 2022

Very strange. Hunting a Georgia origin apple I ran into this Major C. Collins fellow mentioned online. Seems he also found another wild PawPaw that is called “Collins” some years after "Mango.

I was very curious if two apples he introduced were perhaps related to trees sold in South Georgia from 1890 to 1910. But we likely never know now. I was looking for “Gibbs A” said to be a seedling of another Collins find. Collins June.

Might have to drive to Tifton and do some research and relative tracing to see if any of either still exists.
