The wood is tender right now and may snap if force is used.I’d let the thing grow and train later.bb

If you let it grow a bit more, then pinch the top off, a lot of times that will encourage lots of side shoots. Then pick the side shoot growing in the direction you want, then slowly remove all the other shoots. That makes training a little easier, although you will have a little “crick” in the scaffold where it heads straight up before heading back more horizontal. I have scaffolds like this, and they are just as strong as a straight scaffold.
I pinch the tops of all my peach grafts, otherwise with the wind we get, we get too many blow outs.
