last of the reliance. hopefully the second tree with the spring snow graft gives some next year- the graft really took off.
the final picking is always good and sweet with these. probably the dry heat here makes them a little better. they exceed a grocery store peach
I finally got to harvest my first ever peach two days ago!! I was going to inspect it and bumped the branch, then it fell off!
Could not see when inspecting on the tree that the bottom was getting a bad spot, but I thought this was a delicious peach! Hale Haven is the variety.
My husband said it had a bitter flavor, and there was. Just a little bit from the skin, but it didn’t bother me any. He said," You enjoy your peach." And I did! (I did offer him bites of the last two slices, sans skin!)
It was half soft and half slightly firm.
I just noticed this morning that scuzz is back on my supposed nectarine tree. I am thinking of just saying bye! On to the nextarine!
Done done on to the next one!
It is a bit too close to my Halehaven peach anyways. Luckily, the scuzz still doesn’t seem to be affecting my Halehaven.
