Perfect dormant oil conditions

I awoke to a (relatively) balmy 45 F this morning and decided this might be my best chance to get a good dormant oil down so I got off my old lardy and did it. The trees are almost dry already, with no rain predicted until tomorrow.

It’s very strange for us to have weather this mild after Halloween. If this keeps up a person could plan on harvesting some of those long season varieties we’d best usually forget about.

Different year, different season, but Monday was a great day for spraying dormant oil here. Low sixties, no wind. Made me miss the days when we only had 40 trees and they were all small. One afternoon was all it took.
