Picked some Pomelo’s

It’s hard to wait a whole year to try Pomelo’s again. I am more excited with them than my mandarins to be honest, but than you got to grow both in a big way if possible.

I’m having a “Pennyrile Ale” by west 6th brewing company of Lexington, KY…it tastes quite similar to a Pomelo, believe it or not. (Citra hops I am pretty sure, no literal juice.)
But, I may look for a Pomelo next time I’m at Meijers grocery.

How do you know when to pick pomelos? With mandarins it’s easy to tell by color and a little give under the peel. I have an Oroblanco with a few fruit, just turning yellow.

I use data from last year, but it also depends on bloom, it could be late, it could be early. Valentines are easy to drop fruits. December, Thong Dee, January. Mandarins? Anywhere between December and March for me, some are later yet.
