Planting or grafting zone 8 plum to 9b

This is honestly a stupid question. Has anyone had any luck in growing zone 8 fruits in zone 9b? I bought some scion and some fruit tree that I just discovered are for zone 8 and I am in zone 9b. The scion is alive(growing) and the tree that I planted is doing well despite all the heat in Northern California. Is it just possible that they will not fruit or the fruit will just drop? Looking for some expert opinion if I should just cut the scion and remove the tree.

I had no trouble fruiting zone 8 European plums in 9b/10a metropolitan San Diego.

Wow that’s is very encouraging. Thanks for this info!
