Pruning in France

I will post some pictures as soon as I start pruning tomorrow and Monday. You do not have to wait for all of the leaves to drop. That will not happen until Thanksgiving. This is also the time to buy and plant your fruit trees. I am waiting for a new calville blanc d’hiver.

Does this advice apply to all different fruit trees?

Yes it does; pomme fruit and stone fruit, you can prune citrus anytime.

I was always told by the person who pruned our apple trees (red delicious, Jonagold, Dutchess) not to prune until early spring . Pruning now in November would leave open wounds that could become infected with disease etc
