Putting shade cloth on blackberries

I am weirdly passionate about Wild Treasure. When they are good they are hands down the best blackberries I have ever tasted. They make a fantastic jam. Their flavor is so rich.

I just looked up raspberry cane borer. I will look for galls but I’m reasonably certain I don’t have that. I have never seen a sickly cane or had one break that wasn’t my fault. Same with the other Rubus plants next to Wild Treasure.

I am not as sure about anthracnose but I don’t see spots or discoloration on canes. They are green and clear.

The poor quality of fruit has happened every year except the first. I think this is my fault and I’m doing something wrong.

As my last ditch effort I killed most of my Wild Treasures with herbicide and then went after it with my tiller. Looks to have killed them

Then I will put in new plants. The old ones tip rooted and I had about fifty of them right next to each other

This time I intend to give them each space

Dig up a root and see if theres any crown gall going on as well

Good idea. I have enough extras that I can do that

This place says they have Waldo and I think they are the only ones in the US that say this: https://www.rootsplantsshop.com/roots-plants-waldo-blackberry-plants/

The problem is that I don’t know if they are legit. I ordered three wineberry plants from them a couple of weeks ago. I haven’t heard anything from them since. It may be a scam for all I know. It is weird that they are the only ones selling some of these plants.

that magnifying glass up top is a good tool to use sometimes.

Ah, crap. I hadn’t had much reason to search for them until after I “bought” the plants

There’s so many scammer these days, you kind of have to check now. even with the popular sites, you still have to make sure it’s their url if you click on them from somewhere not of your typing.

Make sure you call to reverse the charges on your card likes, yesterday
