This year I started Figs for the first time from cuttings. they are currently potted in 10 gallon tall growbags. while there is a plethora of information on the internet on fertilizing I find it very overwhelming. so far I have been using basic miracle grow but I hate how foamy it gets and I find it is hard to mix properly because of that. is there a water soluble fertilizer anyone would recommend for year 1 summer growth of my new figs? Preferably something balanced and readily available at my local ace hardware or southern states retail stores. hoping to get them well established so they don’t have issues overwintering in my unheated garage this winter, and maybe I can get some fruit next year. I’m in zone 7b Maryland.

Anything with N-P-K ratio close to 3:1:2 and a full array of micronutrients. For example, an N-P-K of 21-7-14 has that ratio.

I’ve had good luck with Dynagro foliage pro when I was establishing young figs. They sometimes went from 1 gallon to 10 gallon within a season.
