I’m going to do some more delving to find out the details. For now, I have found a pear named Early Red Crisp which appears similar to Zao Su Li with red stripes. Pictures are fairly easy to find on the net. I see you linked a couple of pictures above.

Early Red Crisp is Rainbow pear and its a modern chinese hybrid named

The only dout i have is between Red Zaosu Li and Rainbow pear. I have both. They have diferent leaves but still no fruits… Rainbow have biger leaves and more beautifull. Red Zaosu Li have longer leaves…

Contrast your pics with this one. Scion from Tony in Omaha and tentatively ID’d as Red Zao Su Li meaning the striped version. The leaves were more red colored a couple of months ago just after bud break.

It looks more my rainbow but tomorrow i will post both now.
And there are another named Ju Hong that is a Korean red striped pear. The source in Englands nursery.

I got mine from Tony also and the leaves start out red later turning green. Mine has not fruited yet, but I don’t recall Tony ever posting any fruit from it either to compare with Luis.
Zao Su Li is called Early Crisp by many sources.

Early Crisp Red is also used to refer to Rainbow pear. That is why it gets confusing.
Rainbow pear is almost certainly not Red Striped Zao Su Li. I am deliberately using “red striped” because there are several sites claiming a solid red version of Zao Su Li.
Chinese names for pears are usually descriptive of traits. For example, Ya Li is “duck pear” because it physically looks like a duck. Zao Su Li roughly translates as “tart sweet early pear”. In the same way, a name may be translated as “Early Crisp Red”. Reverse that it becomes “Zaoshu Cui Hong”.
