Reka Blueberries Review

I wouldn’t call it “meh” flavor. It has a lot of flavor. Just a bit on the sharp side which makes it great for cooking even if it’s not the sweetest for fresh eating.

What specifically about the flavor do you not like compared to the varieties you do like? Is it too acidic, too bland, not sweet, etc.?

And has your opinion of Reka’s flavor changed at all? It’s been a few years since you started this thread so your bush is more mature now which could influence flavor.

Just to clarify, I never said the flavor was bad. I think the flavor is good, just not outstanding, and compared to the other blueberries I grow, it doesn’t hold up as well. Some family members described an off‑flavor that I personally didn’t detect. It’s been nearly a year since I last tried one, but I should have ripe berries again in the next few weeks, so I can update this then. If I remember correctly, the sugar content also seemed a bit on the low side, but I can confirm that once they’re ripe.

Given that I still have room, and the pros I initially wrote about when I started this post, I’m still growing it three years later.
