I am have been growing all of my fruit trees in containers for a good 4 yrs. Some started to bear for me this year. If I root prune them in the fall this year, will it affect fruiting next year? thx!
No root pruning won’t affect fruiting. I’d say you don’t need to root prune as long as you can get adequate vigor.
At some point you’ll need to prune both top and roots. The top to form new fruiting wood and roots to reinvigorate the tree.

Thx. Many are in regular pots and would be root bound by now. I appreciate your answer. thanks so much.
