I will also take cuttings from what I have growing. I am estimating that I will end up with about 100 cuttings altogether. That’s not a ton, but it is a little work.
Thanks for the links and advice. I will try to report back after I get started.

Yes, please do! If you think you’ll be doing large quantities on the regular, you might want to consider these plug trays in the 18- cell size:
They take up more space and you’ll need to water them more, but it’s so much less work per cutting to do. The upfront cost is also higher, but they’ll last a long time. I’ve been able to sell rooted plugs directly to the public. Just give them a cardboard box or wrap in a plastic grocery bag for the ride home.
I have these:
and these:
I used the 18 count last year with this dome
…and everything was going well until toward the end of the season. I don’t know if I didn’t water enough when I got busy or over fertilized or what. I really get busy toward spring and sometimes my winter/late winter projects suffer.
I don’t know, it just seems like the figpops will work better for me. I am planning to use the rootmakers as well for my cuttings.
If you don’t at first succeed, try, try again (-Thomas H. Palmer).
Fair enough! Fig pops are definitely more foolproof, but they are a lot of work up front.
Nice tree. Lot easier to air layer but I guess that takes the fun out. Not sure if that green on the upper is new but if you just took that I’d consider a larger bag and wrap the top so the buds don’t dry out. I’d also use grafting tape just around the budding areas and regular kitchen plastic wrap on the wood unless you have lots of tape. It just toss the whole thing in a white trash bag that will keep it humid. Good luck!
This was from a multi trunked Smith tree and the branch snapped from high winds so i took a ton of cuttings and sold many of them and this stump had some roots on it already so i couldnt just throw it out. Im only half serious about this one but if it works ill pot it up and sell it.
Cool deal beats tossing for sure. Like to see a root update. Are you keeping it warm?
Its in the hoop house laying on the ground right now but we are going to have a big drop in temperature pretty soon so ill leave it in the garage over winter.
