"Row Boss" in Obit Triggers Nostalgia

I have read thousands of obituaries over the years, but a recent one was a first: The lady had enjoyed being a row boss for local farmers.

A row boss was the person who checked up on the (in my case berry) pickers to make sure they were picking thoroughly and selecting ripe fruit. They might also put a stop to throwing fruit (berry fights) and they had some pickers turn down the volume of their transistor radios.
