Satsuma mandarin tree questions

I live in Mojave desert in California.
It is zone 8, the tempertature is very similar to Las vegas but colder winter nights.
I have some questions about sastuma trees before buying early season varieties.

  1. Can flowers and fruits withstand desert heat and the strong sunlight?
Should I plant the tree somewhere it can have afternoon shade ?

  2. At what temperature do fruits get frozen or damaged on the tree?
I’m thinking to buy Louisiana Early and possibly Brown Select and don’t want the freezing temperature to ruin fruits.

3.What other early season sastuma varieties are there?
All I know is LA early , Armstrong early, St.ann.
