I made the decision this year to switch to Permethrin for Plum Curcilio at my house (5 acres) for my peach trees (roughly 20 trees). I will use Imidan on my fathers farm (40 acres) in the future (roughly 50 trees).
Reading through the posts and articles on the internet it seems that I am highly likely to get a scale insect infestation at some point since permethrin kills beneficial insects that keep scale insects in check. Currently I do not do anything to prevent scale insect infestations - no dormant season preventive and I wouldn’t know what to do if I had a scale insect outbreak - what is effective?
Would like to hear peoples experience with scale insect infestations, what is effective to prevent the infestation and what works when you do get an infestation. Thanks - Spud
